This is the page to register for the Civilian and Insurgent Faction for Operation Dead End being held at The Compound on May 11 through May 12.
Operation Dead End is an event focused on roleplay interactions between an occupying military faction and the local civilian population. This page is to register as the Civilian Faction. The Civilian team acts as both the local peaceful population of the town of Roads End, as well as the radicalized militant arm of the Insurgents resisting occupation by the Coalition. Your role as a civilian is to lead a life within the town of roads end - whether you are simply hanging out with the boys, funneling information back to the Insurgency, or choosing to eventually take up arms at an opportune moment sacrificing yourself for a greater purpose.
The civilians mission during the course of OP DEAD END is to collect information on the location and specifics of objective items, and choose how to proceed. This may be stealing a valuable resource from a building protected by the Coalition, or simply verifying the location or presence of a critical mission objective that will take place later in the day. The Civilian mission can be summarized as a very slow boil, taking time to gather information and formulate a plan, culminating in an explosive and violent execution of these objectives later in the day - however Civilians are not limited as to when they can attack many of these objectives, and may find the most opportune time is in broad daylight.
Civilians are expected to be able to take on their role as one seriously during the event. This means being comfortable not carrying tactical equipment for large portions of the event, leaving firearms back at your command, or otherwise just being flexible with what you are asked to do. Some Civilians may be asked to take on direct combat missions and some might only be asked to take photos or send information back that might be useful. You should come to this game primarily expecting to have a goal as a Civilian first and foremost, such as operating a store, engaging in some form of live theatre, selling lemonade, having a BBQ with the boys, or some other activity to keep yourself busy and occupied. Remember, an occupied and thriving town is a distracting town to the military occupiers - more people doing many things means there are more things to keep an eye on. Soldiers hanging out and watching you grill a burger is one less soldier patrolling the roads or manning a checkpoint.
Civilians are each a single form of Government Issued Identification (Known as G-ID). Being in possession of a G-ID grants you certain legal rights, such as being permitted to pass inspections or checkpoints and permission to enter the economic district of Roads End. The Coalition Forces cannot detain an unsuspicious civilian in possession of their documentation and must ultimately be allowed to pass. A Civilian found without their papers might be detained and sent to OP Harris for questioning or incarceration.
You are given only one G-ID during your time as a civilian. Dying or being incarcerated while in possession of your G-ID will cause you to lose it for the remainder of the game. You may choose to spawn without your G-ID leaving it at the Insurgent Command Post, saving it for later in the day.
The Civilian Faction will have their central Command Post out of play. This will give them a central location to return to so they may track objectives and what spawn points have become active during the event.
You should register for the Civilian Faction for Operation Dead End if;
You want to take on the role as a civilian for significant portions of the event
You want to walk around town and relax with your friends
You want to provide small pieces of information that contribute to a larger, overarching goal
You want to be ready to throw your gear on and enter combat quickly if needed to switch between Civilian and Insurgent on short notice
You want to work closely with a dispersed and spread out team all tackling small objectives as the day goes on
You want to have a set of goals and missions to work towards throughout the entirety of the 16 hour event
You want to eventually execute on the days earlier intelligence gathering and planning phases by working together as a traditional milsim team
You should not register for Operation Dead End on any faction if:
You primarily want to shoot BB's all day
You care more about scoring kills than being a team player
You are uncomfortable with hours of inaction and peace prior to the Insurgency kicking off in full force
