Welcome to the middle of nowhere. The town of Roads End was named exactly for the reasons you expect - it's the end of the line. Roads End is a small community of rural folk who have spent their whole life living out in the country, working primarily as farmers or supporting to local agriculture industry.
Since the war began Coalition Forces have took up a presence in this small town as geographical location makes it useful supporting other, more nearby outposts.
As a result of the Coalitions effort to gain legitimacy on the international stage, members of United Nations have voted to recognize the Coalition as a legitimate nation state. A condition of this recognition is that a vote is to be had in all disputed territories. The people living within those regions will be given the opportunity to participate in a binding referendum: formally join the Coalition, or remain an independent territory.
The vote is scheduled to be held on July 5, 2025. Members of the UN will arrive in town to facilitate the vote. After the vote is completed and the town has made their choice, the results of the vote will come into force at 12:01 AM on July 6, 2025.
OPERATION DEAD END 2025 is a game all about one central focus - the vote. All players will register for this event as Civilians. Civilians will spend the day of OP DEAD END 2025 living their lives like a civilian - running their stores, meeting and socializing, and working with others to improve the town. Today is not an ordinary day, as what might be the most important decision of their lives will need to be made.
Present in the civilian population are two major thought leaders: Pro-Independence, and Pro-Cooperation. The Independence movement is focused on maintaining the towns neutrality until the conflict comes to an end, in hopes of maybe one day things returning "back to normal." The Cooperation movement is focused on ending the conflict as quickly as possible, by formally recognizing the town as Coalition territory, submitting to their rules and laws, so they can quickly get back to normal. Civilians will be able to meet with these leaders, organize with them, hear their thoughts out and decide how best to vote when the time comes. Civilians will be able to volunteer their services to these thought leaders and work with them towards their goal.
Players who sign up for OP DEAD END will not be permitted to start the game with their weapons. How they get their weapons and equipment into town is part of the game.
OP DEAD END is scheduled to run from 11:00 AM on Saturday July 5, 2025 until approximately 3:00 AM on Sunday July 6, 2025. Most players should expect to experience the bulk of the event by 3:00 AM. However due to the nature of the game and the unpredictable nature such an event entails, if necessary, the game will run until Noon on Sunday.
The Coalition Forces will be curated on an invite only basis. Your registration status, or lack there of, will not impact your eligibility to be invited to the Coalition Forces.
The UN will arrive in the town in preparation for the vote
Civilians will register for the vote with the UN.
The vote will be conducted by the UN.
The results of the vote will be announced to the town.
If the town votes for to remain an Independant Territory, the Coalition Forces will be required to vacate the town by 11:59 PM.
If the town votes for to formally join the Coalition, the town will become subject to the Coalitions laws and rule as of 11:59 PM.
In order for the vote to be binding, UN Personnel must remain alive and extract the results of the vote from Roads End.
A failed vote, or the failure of the vote to be documented by the UN, means the future of the town remains uncertain.
It is in everyone's interest for the vote to occur, but the results of the vote are not in everyone's interest.

Operation Dead End features two playable teams, the Coalition Forces and the Civilian / Insurgent Faction. Registration is only available for the Civilian team.
The Civilian / Insurgent Faction are a group of the local population living within the town. These town people lead normal, everyday lives in the town but the oppressive policies of the Coalition are radicalizing more and more civilians to resist their occupation. Not every action supporting the Insurgency is that of direct violence and action, Civilians can engage in reconnaissance, provide material or informational aid to the Insurgents, and otherwise access places as an unsuspecting civilian that an armed combatant would be unable to reach. This team is encouraged to embrace the role of Civilian during the starting phase of the event, hanging out and relaxing with other players in town. After Curfew is called and all law abiding civilians have returned to their homes, the only players left within the playable space are Insurgents seeking to combat the Coalitions presence.
The Coalition Forces are a combined United States and Canadian military entity operating as one single unit. The Coalition is stationed within OP Harris, located within the playable space and is exposed to potential incursion by Civilian / Insurgent forces. Registration is not available for the Coalition Forces.
